Dive into Hyères at iconic sites:
From the drop-offs to the wrecks of the Port Cros National Park

Diving in Hyères is much more than just a sporting activity: it's a total immersion in underwater landscapes of unparalleled beauty. Whether exploring the historic wrecks of Porquerolles, the varied seabed of Port-Cros, or the legendary wrecks of the Giens Peninsula , each dive offers its share of discoveries and wonders. The Port-Cros National Park and its surroundings are a true sanctuary of biodiversity and a dream destination for all scuba diving enthusiasts.

Porquerolles Island & its wrecks

Cap des Mèdes is home to several dive sites, including Roche Percée, Rocher du Moyen, and Sec du Gendarme. These sites offer a multitude of possibilities and varied dives depending on each person's level, from introductory dives to over 20 meters along rocky peaks, drop-offs, and faults, and also allow you to play with shadows depending on the sun and the route taken during the dive.

The wreck of the Greek (merchant ship whose real name is the Sagona) The Greek is a ship that sank off the coast of Porquerolles after being hit by a floating mine during the Second World War. It is one of the most popular dives on the island. It lies at a depth of 47 meters, with the top of the deck at a depth of 35 meters , offering a fascinating exploration of its long and imposing metallic body covered in marine life. This dive is very often subject to a strong current and decompression is done while drifting and requires good experience.

The Donator wreck (merchant ship whose real name was the Prosper Schiaffino) was a ship that sank in 1945 after hitting a mine. Marine fauna has invaded the wreck, making the dive even more spectacular with fish, crustaceans and abundant marine vegetation. It lies at a depth of 52 meters , with the top of the ship at 35m. This dive is also subject to a strong current, making it an accessible wreck for experienced divers with a drift decompression.

Le Sec du Langoustier This site is located not far from Porquerolles Island, ranging from 20 meters to 40 meters deep, near Langoustier Beach. It features spectacular rock formations and a wide variety of marine species. Divers will encounter groupers, moray eels, rays, and sometimes even schools of tuna. Diving here also offers the opportunity to swim around large underwater arches and explore caves where rockfish and crustaceans have taken up residence.

Giens Peninsula

The Escampo Barriou drop-off is one of the most iconic sites on the Giens Peninsula. From a cove or anchorage, this multi-level site offers a beautiful drop-off and the chance to pass through a natural chimney from 18m to 9m deep. Numerous species take advantage of the cracks and reliefs of this sheltered site when the mistral blows. This is a merchant ship that sank in 1950 after a collision with another boat.

Les Fourmigues is one of the sites just off the eastern tip of the Giens Peninsula. This rock emerging from a sandbank is richly populated with moray eels, groupers, octopuses, giant dories (nudibranchs), barracudas, and other schools of Mediterranean fish. It is a very interesting multi-level site from shallow depths down to 40 meters. It allows you to dive amidst a beautiful underwater diversity while benefiting from a varied relief including gorgonians, faults, and coralligenous.

Port Cros Island

La Gabinière is one of the most famous dive sites in Port-Cros. It's possible to discover dive sites starting at shallow depths and going up to 40 meters deep. This magical place is renowned for its impressive drop-offs and spectacular underwater landscapes. Divers can explore vertiginous walls where a multitude of marine species can be found, such as groupers, barracudas, sunfish (mola mola) depending on the season, and schools of sea bream.

Pointe de la Croix and Pointe du vaisseau are diving sites that descend to a depth of around forty meters. Rich in groupers, barracudas, dentex, and other species that take advantage of the numerous reliefs, long rocky ridges, and faults to hide or hunt, these sites allow us to discover this biodiversity in the middle of an impressive marine landscape while playing with the fairly frequent current.

Montrémian Point, north of Bagaud Islet, is a multi-level site descending to just over 30 meters. This accessible site, also known as the ski slope thanks to its particular topography, allows for beautiful explorations with rocky peaks, beautiful drop-offs, and a very rich biodiversity, from small nudibranchs to the passage of small tuna, including groupers, wrasse, and schools of salema.

Irina, Discover

Excellent! I could never have imagined a better introductory experience for someone as fearful as me. Impeccable support, we see that through his experience Sylvain knows how to adapt the outing to the level and pace of each person. He is very attentive and I was immediately put at ease with the equipment and technique. You can feel a lot of passion for his job and he must have a magic eye because I probably wouldn't have captured half of the small fish and marine life without him showing them to me! I wholeheartedly recommend!

Peter, Trainings Level 1

I had an absolutely fantastic time diving! The atmosphere was totally relaxed and I felt comfortable and safe from the start. Sylvain is not only extremely friendly, but also very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience – I learned a huge amount and had a lot of fun. The combination of professionalism, good humor, incredible diving fun, and patience was simply perfect. Thank you so much for this great experience – I will definitely come back and can only recommend him to everyone!

Victoria, Exploration

Sylvain is a diving instructor I met in Martinique where I spent my PA40 with him. Back in mainland France, I wanted to do an exploration of the Port Cros Park with him as a dive guide and also to refresh my skills. I liked his teaching style which quickly gave me confidence, and also the fact that I felt accompanied where everything went at my own pace.
I was able to enjoy seeing nudibranchs, groupers, moray eels and being very close to magnificent barracudas!! Go there with your eyes closed
